Cheska's First Day at School

The big day finally came. Cheska's all ready for school. She had her uniform, school shoes and backpack all ready just the night before. She wasn't the only one beaming with excitement. The whole household was all eager to see her off to school. My mom even volunteered to accompany the little girl. So I told my Mom I was just gonna meet them there during lunchtime.

When I went there, the place was chaotic. Kids were running around. Parents also joined in the commotion. Maybe that was normal. The kids, parents and even the teachers were still adjusting. And Cheska, she was a bit uneasy and still trying to fit in. I'm just so thankful she didn't throw a tantrum when my Mom left her for a while.

Well, that was a golden moment in my child's life... well, my life, too. Such precious memories...

Dearest Cheska,

As you take your first step towards a long journey of learning, I just want you to know how proud we already are of you. I know it's gonna be one long adventure that you will truly love and cherish. As your parents, we wish you the best. One of the best gifts we could give you is education so treasure it well. Study hard, do what your heart desires most, and if you want something so badly, strive hard to achieve it. Remember to be careful in all your important decisions because you could never undo something that was said and done. But nevertheless, we are always here to support and love you... all the way.

All the love in the world,

Mommy and Daddy

29

This is one of my happiest birthdays ever. Spending the day with my whole family and close relatives made my birthday really special. My friends and coworkers also were around to make it memorable and fun. Loved ones from abroad made their presence very much felt by their email greetings, YM and friendster messages.

As I turn twenty nine, I promise to embrace life even more. I promise to be more thankful and more appreciative of the world I am in. To strive to better in every way I can be, not for myself, but for others more importantly. I also told myself I should never be afraid of growing old ... as long as I age gracefully inside and out. God has already shown me the real meaning of my life. It's just up to me to cherish it more everyday, every week, every month, every year...

Thank you Lord, for the twenty nine wonderful years!

I've got to admit, I hated this song when it was first released by Kylie Minogue & Jason Donovan back in 1989. But I totally loved it when Kylie did a duet with Kermit the Frog! Even loved it better when i heard the acoustic version by Juris of MYMP. Didn't know it would take a former schoolmate or a frog even for me to love this song. I've been singing it the whole week!

A Traveler by Heart

I'm a homebody. But though I love to just stay home when I'm not working, there's also a big part of me that wants to go places. As a child, I dreamed of traveling around the world. During college, I got the chance to tour my own country. Aside from Luzon Cities, I visited Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Roxas City, Kalibo Aklan, Boracay and Butuan. So many beautiful places to visit yet so little time (being so busy with work), so financially incapable (if I plan to visit it all!), and so tied to my family (I get so homesick).

When I was five, I remember waiting for my grandparents to come home from the States. When they came, I had so many presents being the first grandchild. I told myself, I want to visit the States when I grow up. So on top of my list, I have to visit America. It's a must to visit my two favorite states California and New York. My first priority are the malls, shopping centers, city skyscrapers (Empire State Building I have to see you), amusement centers (Disneyland here I come!) and Casinos (oh lala Las Vegas). Second will be the beaches, nature parks and other breathtaking sights. Third priority are historical places and museums(maybe I can consider Washington in this case).

As a lovestruck teenager, I dreamed of visiting Europe. Paris, France is my favorite being the city of love. I also wished to visit Italy, Switzerland, England, Greece, Monaco, Germany and Spain. Australia is also on my wishlist because I vicariously fell in love with the country through one of my bestfriends who decided to live there.

Right now, Asia is the continent I can probably conquer. My first plan is Hong Kong. That would probably be realized next year but I'm still crossing my fingers that on December I can have that trip. Then Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Japan.

My long term goal is to visit all of these places. I pray to God that at the age 60 or 70, I'll be able to fulfill my goal. That is why I'm working real hard right now. By the time I retire from work, I want to spend my time just touring the wonderful places of this world.
