A Traveler by Heart

I'm a homebody. But though I love to just stay home when I'm not working, there's also a big part of me that wants to go places. As a child, I dreamed of traveling around the world. During college, I got the chance to tour my own country. Aside from Luzon Cities, I visited Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Roxas City, Kalibo Aklan, Boracay and Butuan. So many beautiful places to visit yet so little time (being so busy with work), so financially incapable (if I plan to visit it all!), and so tied to my family (I get so homesick).

When I was five, I remember waiting for my grandparents to come home from the States. When they came, I had so many presents being the first grandchild. I told myself, I want to visit the States when I grow up. So on top of my list, I have to visit America. It's a must to visit my two favorite states California and New York. My first priority are the malls, shopping centers, city skyscrapers (Empire State Building I have to see you), amusement centers (Disneyland here I come!) and Casinos (oh lala Las Vegas). Second will be the beaches, nature parks and other breathtaking sights. Third priority are historical places and museums(maybe I can consider Washington in this case).

As a lovestruck teenager, I dreamed of visiting Europe. Paris, France is my favorite being the city of love. I also wished to visit Italy, Switzerland, England, Greece, Monaco, Germany and Spain. Australia is also on my wishlist because I vicariously fell in love with the country through one of my bestfriends who decided to live there.

Right now, Asia is the continent I can probably conquer. My first plan is Hong Kong. That would probably be realized next year but I'm still crossing my fingers that on December I can have that trip. Then Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Japan.

My long term goal is to visit all of these places. I pray to God that at the age 60 or 70, I'll be able to fulfill my goal. That is why I'm working real hard right now. By the time I retire from work, I want to spend my time just touring the wonderful places of this world.
