Kids Say the Darndest Things

Cheska: mom is our car automatic?
Me: (surprised at the question) Yes. Why?
Cheska: You mean it will just drive by itself even when you fix your hair or scratch your head?

Koojee: Mom, pls. buy me a toy
Me: sorry we don't have money now.
Koojee: Ok then let's buy money first.

Me: What do you want to become when u grow up?
Koojee: I want to be a robot.

Me: cheska what do u want to be when u grow up?
cheska: I want to be a nurse like tita mae.
me: do u know what nurses do?
cheska: No... (thought for a while) okay so i want to be a teacher instead.

Six Signs and Symptoms that I am Getting...Old

1. The “Ate” Syndrome. Those who don’t know me addresses me as “Ate”. When I was younger, people would call me “Miss”. For some time, especially to my younger co-workers, I would tell them to just call me by my first name because not even my siblings call me Ate. But as time goes by, just couldn’t help it anymore.

2. Party Pooper Symptom. I get sleepy as early as 8:30 on a regular working day and when I go out with friends I start yawning at 10 and I had to be home by 12 (with some few exceptions, of course). But then again, I was always the party pooper in the barkada even way back in college.

3. Homebody Disease. I prefer to stay home on a weekend night!

4. Early Bird Sickness. Even if I sleep very late, I still tend to wake up at my regular waking hour 6:30. No matter what I do, I could not sleep in until 9AM anymore.

5. Flashbacks. I would now see my nieces and nephews (kids of my cousins) all grown up and I would tell myself, Hey these kids were born when I was in high school… and now they’re all in college. Some even have kids now and what does that make of me? Technically, I’m now a grandmother. Toink!

6. Age Amnesia. I easily forget my age (or should I say deliberately?). One time I was telling everybody that I’m 32 years old! Hello?… That would be on June this year. I’m still 31, by the way , and counting the months until they say “lapas ka na sa kalendaryo!”

Three Happies

First of all, Happy New Year to all bloggers out there.

Secondly, Happy bday to Hubby who turned 30 yesterday. We had a long celebration, we spent the weekend at Marco Polo (compliments of my boss, as usual), had dinner at home with just a few close friends on the eve of his birthday and finally went to 6 am mass on his very birthday.

Lastly, happy 1st birthday to our car! Wow, I can't believe she's been with us a year only, I feel like she's been around forever.

So happy to start the year right. I pray that this year will even be more fruitful and more blessed.
